Activity Coordinator
The Activity Coordinator is responsible for the creation and implementation of the camper activity schedule, both instructional and recreational. The Activity Coordinator will be a part of the Brookland-Lakeview 21st Century COLA Program instructional team, along with the camp teachers and the 21st Century COLA Program staff. The Activity Coordinator will report to the Project Director.
Certified Teacher (Math, English Language Arts (ELA))
The Certified Teacher is responsible for providing instruction to middle school-aged children while demonstrating mastery of their content area. The instruction will be based on the certification of math or ELA. The Certified Teacher will be a part of the Brookland-Lakeview 21st Century COLA Program instructional team, along with the Activity Coordinator and the 21st Century COLA Program staff. The Certified Teacher will report to the Project Director.
Program Coordinator for Community Food Promotion
The Coordinator of Food Promotion Programs manages the community gardens projects, provides and/or assists to provide growing practices education, coordinates related educational activities and coordinates the Farmer Market vendors and activities. The position is roughly 70% planning, coordinating, and implementing community gardens; 20% supervising staff to work the community gardens, farmers market and nutrition education and 10% meetings/written and oral reports. The position reports to the Executive Director of the Brookland-Lakeview Empowerment Center.
Community Food Promotion Worker (2)
Under the direction of the Program Coordinator of Food Promotion Programs, the Community Food Promotion Worker will be responsible for implementing a community garden, maintaining, and monitoring the health of all fruit and vegetables in the community garden and working with the program coordinator to plan, coordinate and implement a farmer’s market.
Community Health Worker
Engage the African American and Hispanic families with diabetes living in Cayce, West Columbia, and surrounding Richland and Lexington County communities to participate in the Diabetes Intervention Program (DIP) and implement the Intensive Lifestyle Intervention and booster sessions, facilitate the Lifestyle Incentive Program, and maintain engagement with participants via social media and text messaging.
Instructional Assistant Position – Brookland-Lakeview COLA Program
Works with teachers and parents to address academic deficiencies and behavior challenges of students at Northside Middle School. The assistant will become part of the Brookland-Lakeview COLA Program instructional team. The instructional team will be comprised of the classroom teacher and school staff, parents, the 21st Century Program staff, the Program Advisory Committee, and the student. The Program’s principal goal is to help each student realize his/her potential.
