Site Coordinator

Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with a teaching certificate in English, Reading and/or Math and provide a connection for the COLA Program with the middle school serving as a liaison between teachers and the COLA Program staff. Under the supervision of the Project Director, the Site Coordinator manages all operations at the Northside Middle afterschool site. Must plan, develop, implement and evaluate programs and activities that prepare youth for success while promoting safety and program quality. The Site Coordinator will work with classroom teachers to access student information according to the agreement terms for data collection purposes and measure progress. Responsible for collecting information to ensure the afterschool and summer programs align with the Northside Middle School curriculum and emphasize learning skills that will help student performance on state assessments. The Site Coordinator must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and must be available to work 20 hours per week during the school year and 25 hours per week during the summer. The position reports to the project director. 

Certified Teachers

Must hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree and meet the State’s certification requirements to teach reading, writing and mathematics. The Certified Teacher will provide instruction to students enrolled in the program and work with the site coordinator and program staff to plan and implement each component of the afterschool and summer learning program. The Certified Teacher will monitor student progress and implement curriculum based on student needs. The Certified Teacher will be responsible for benchmark and progress monitoring data and reporting those results to parents and the site coordinator. Must be available to work between 15-19 hours per week during the school year and 25 hours per week during the summer months. This position reports to the Site Coordinator. Certified Teachers from Northside Middle School are preferred.

Activity Coordinators

Must have a high school diploma and have at least two years of experience in education support services. The Activity Coordinator will spend quality time with students helping them achieve greater academic success by providing tutoring and other academic support as needed. They will also provide some programmatic assistance to the site coordinator and/or some instructional assistance to the Certified Teachers by helping plan some light activities for the age group to which they are assigned. Must be available to work 20 hours per week during the school year and 25 hours per week during the summer months. The position reports to the Site Coordinator.

Financial Specialist

The Finance Specialist will assist in any or all of the facets of Finance including but not limited to: Payroll, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Budgeting and Forecasting, Expense Management, Cash Management, Taxes, Internal Audits, Cost Accounting, and Fixed Assets Accounting. The Finance Specialist will report to the Chief Financial Officer of the Brookland Center for Community Economic Change

Bus Driver

To transport students to and from school and other learning sites within designated route(s) and to ensure the safety of the student passengers while in a vehicle. Employees in this classification receive general supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures. This job class is responsible for the safe operation of a large passenger bus and for ensuring the safety of student passengers while meeting established bus schedules. Must be available to work 12 hours per week during the school year and 5 to 10 hours per week during the summer months. Driver must have a valid CDL license and possess a good driving record.  The position reports to the Site Coordinator and the Project Director.
