What is the SHIELD Program?

A holistic approach to diabetes prevention grounded in faith, culture, and community.

The SHIELD (Spiritual Health Initiative for Eliminating and Lowering Diabetes) Program is a cohort-based, comprehensive diabetes prevention and management initiative that integrates spiritual wellness, health education, and practical lifestyle strategies. Over 12 weeks, participants receive personalized support through weekly sessions, clinical data tracking, culturally responsive education, and community-based peer engagement.
